What method do you use to make soaps?
We use the traditional cold process method, that consists of saponifying all natural skin loving oils and butters (shea, cocoa, etc) into soap using sodium hydroxide. Once the oils saponified the soap contains no sodium hydroxide. We also "superfat" our soaps, meaning that we use a higher concentration oils and butters in our recipe. This results in gentle non drying soaps!
How can I make my new soap last longer?
Unlike commercial bars, we don't use any additives (Ew!) to make them harder, because we want to keep things as natural as possible:) But that doesn't mean that your soap can't last!
To make sure your new soap doesn't melt or get squishy, always use a soap saver, or a soap dish that properly drains, and don't forget to clean them from time to time. Soap residue and water accumulation melts soaps! When using, try to avoid holding the bar under water, instead just wet hands and rub the bar and let it lather! If using in the shower as a body soap, just rub the dry bar with a wet washcloth, instead of rubbing the bar on your body, this produces rich lather, and makes the soap last longer!
Are your products all natural?
Our products are mostly natural. Our soaps are 96% natural, bath salt soaks 98%, bath bombs 96%, and lip balms 95%. A large part of the ingredients we use are food ingredients:) With the exception of some fragrances, some colours and some gentle surfactants (sulfate free). Rest assured that all our ingredients are the best quality and skin safe!
